What is Geofencing 

Geofencing is simply the use of technology to place a geographical boundary on the map, thereby enabling the enterprise software to trigger an alarm whenever the device leaves a particular area. These alarms are in form of email or SMS notifications that are sent to the owner or the admin of these devices.

How does it work?

To activate the geofencing feature on the software, the admin or the manager of an account must first create a virtual boundary around a specified location on the map. It can be as easy as plotting a geofence from one location to another in the same state or plotting an interstate geofence. It is this virtual geofence that then triggers an alarm when your device leaves that area.

By creating a geofence when your device is on a trip especially when it is by road, whenever the vehicle carrying your temperature-sensitive deviates from the route that the geofence was placed around, the admin is notified immediately for the next proactive measures in maintaining the integrity of the products on the trip.
